What is Permanent Makeup? Permanent makeup goes by many names; permanent cosmetics, micro pigmentation, cosmetic tattooing to name a few. Whatever term you prefer, it is the enhancement of the face and skin. Specially formulated hypoallergenic pigments that are natural looking are implanted into the first layer of the skin. Pigments are available in a variety of colors and shades. Touch ups normally are advised every three to five years. How long permanent makeup last depends on the skin tone, environmental factors such as exfoliation, and body chemistry. Each person is different.
