It's time for this fire department to make a statement of their intentions. Those intentions should be to fire Jeromy Mixon - a total disgrace to any service organization.
This evil individual needs to spend time in jail for his actions against a defenseless animal. He has done this before and he will do it again.

I see all these posts on here about a man that is part of a Fire Department. People, your fantasy vendetta is against a single person, who I don't believe deserves the harassment he is receiving, not against this fire department. You guys need to grow up and go on down the road. This page does not say Review of Jeromy Mixon, it says review of Millerton Fire Department. And Millerton Fire Department is a GREAT organization. They work hard to keep their community safe. So my suggestion is if you don't have a review of the Fire Department itself, then you need to go get off this site and take your childish ways back to Facebook fantasy world!! And one last thing, 90% of your English teachers would be hanging their heads in shame or maybe even hiding if they saw the poor grammar and spelling that you unlovely folks like to use. Furthermore, each employee of ANY organization is a representative of that company on or off duty...This is especially true of public SERVICE individuals. Mixon is a horrible representation for any organization, particularly one that is steeped in saving lives...ALL LIVES...
This is not fantasy. This is pure and simple brutality and the fire department should immediately dismiss Mixon and protect their stellar reputation you claim they possess...it has been gravely tarnished by this one single person.

This animal abuser who calls himself a trainer should be fired. Firemen are supposed to save lives, not destroy them. I live in Oklahoma and we visit McCurtain County a couple of times per year. We won't be returning until this abuser is fired and prosecuted. Do the right thing and get rid of him.
I am a long-time avid horse enthusiast and am appalled at this man kicking the poor horse. The horse is lying down, the man has spurs on and is kicking the horse in the neck. How is this anything other than extreme, sick psychopath behavior? Yes, I'm judging - the picture tells all I need to know. Anyone who thinks this is "training" needs their head examined and then thrown in prison away from people and animals.
I just want to write this simple statement. Everybody is judging this man when they dont even have their fact right. Everyone need to look up the this form of training. It call flogging, it to help break wild mustang or horses that very wild, there is no harm coming to the horse. The horse is not being whiped oris not being abusive. Look up your fa ts before you go judging!!! So i am so sock and tire of people trying to ruin other people lives just cause they dont agree with the way you are doing things. All because you dont agree with it doesnt mean it wrong!!!! So do leave comments or say something unless you know what you are talking about.... Are you nuts!! Obviously you are as cruel as him. I have watched people 'Break-in' horses without any beating or harsh behaviour to the horse and they have become the most loving horses. Perhaps your 'simple statement' is just an indication of your mentality - dumb, idiotic, moron hick. Have you ever thought what it would be like to be hogtied and beaten into submission. What, because you are a human and can feel pain, fear, humiliation etc, you think you are different from the animals he and obviously you torture? Why do you think they break - because they just decide they are over this game and they want to try something else. THEY ARE TERRIFIED, IN PAIN AND FEAR FOR THEIR LIFE YOU DUMB ASS!!!!!!!!! PUNISHMENT OR TORTURE! Don't even go there saying it doesn't hurt the horse how the hell do you know it doesn't hurt? Should we try it on you???

These are breathing, living creatures with emotions - if you dare to step outside your protected world that horses are "less than" or any creature is "less than" and you truly wish to help a horse learn - you DO NOT teach by FEAR, INTIMIDATION, OR PUNISHMENT...that only results in a broken spirit. Think what is would be like if you had been taught in this manner...maybe you were and maybe that's why you are defending these actions. But I assure you, this is abuse and one only needs to look at the pictures to know this...
And by the way, I have "wild" mustangs and have taught all of them thru kindness and patience...I ride in halter only...that's how "wild" they are!!
Kicking a horse in the neck with spurs on while it is tied down can only be interpreted as horrifyingly stupid, cruel and evil. This guy needs to be in jail.
Something needs to be done about this so called horse trainer. I sure would question someone of this nature representing the fire department. This is circulating all over the country so remember this is advertisement for you.
I was DISGUSTED to see the heart breaking photos of this man abusing an already thin,unhealthy, small horse. When I heard he works for the fire department I was LIVID.My cousin was a fireman during 9/11. Firemen save lives not harm them, they are beacons for courage and dignity. This man is a disgrace to the profession. Violence towards an animal only develops into violence towards humans. This man should be fired!!! I am sharing this with everyone I know!
How can a fireman act aggressive with animals and then be trusted to save & protect homes, kids, animals, property, etc SCARY!!!!
The public looks to the firemen/women to save lives. They have compassionate and empathy to help those in trouble. Now, Mr Mixon clearly lacks empathy and compassion when he trains horses and his dogs. Tying all 4 legs of a horse, using a whip and standing on the horse wearing spurs lacks both. He pens a boar and bear and sics his dogs in the name of training. I would not want this person coming to my rescue knowing he abuses and tortures animals. I hope you act in the best interest of the public and your department. Thank you for your time.
An animal abuser has no business on the fire dept. no one I. Their right mind would trust him! The DA is looking at charges in him for Animal Cruelty he should be let go immediately.
