Our History
Our History
We have been involved in the business since past several generations and completely understand the requirements of our customers. The history of the company started some 125 years ago in Kukarwada, where Mr Ganpatram Ijatram Mistry established his firm- M/S Gampatram Mistry and Sons. His work was greatly admired by all and caught the attention of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaikwad of Baroda, who encouraged Mr. Mistry to shift base to Baroda and also provided him with full facility to work on his art. Mr. Ganpatram worked in Laxmivilas palace in Baroda, in Dewas state (M.P.) along with other ares, such as Jambughda and Rajpipla states. After the demise of Mr Ganpatram Ijatram the business was passed on to the shoulders of his son Mr. Liladhar Mistry, who further trained two of his sons in the trade. They both- Mr. Dashrath and Mr. Suresh are accomplished and known gifted wood carved artists and metal sheet inlaid articles artists. They also have the distinction of winning many awards including 5 state awards during 1982 to 1986, 1 national award of 'master craftsman' in 1998.
