I am a contract interpreter who completed two successful, hours-long assignments for this company
this past May, for which they owe a significant amount of money for my services. Unfortunately,
due to an onset of bad pregnancy sickness a week later, completely out of my control, I had to
cancel a completely different assignment with them.
They now refuse to pay me in full for the services that I have already rendered, instead wrongly
withholding that money because I was sick for a different appointment (and given them proof of
early pregnancy with ultrasound pictures!). They have also sent many angry and nearly
unintelligible emails over the last few weeks, when I ask for full payment.
This is extremely unprofessional, and almost definitely illegal. I would never recommend using
this company for interpretation services, and definitely NEVER work for them as a contract
interpreter, if you expect to be fully paid for your services.
