The AccuVISION on Michigan Avenue is part of a multi-location private practice of eyecare specialists.

We offer a full range of vision correction products and services. Locally owned for more than 25 years by Dr. James Doherty, O.D.Established in 1982.Dr. James Doherty was offered the American Vision Center franchise in Waukegan which was the beginning of our one hour service. In 1988 a new private practice, AccuVISION, was opened in Lindenhurst. He was then offered the American Vision franchise on North Michigan Avenue in Chicago. In 1995 the First Vision in Round Lake Beach was close to bankruptcy when Dr. Doherty took it over. It has now grown to become the largest optical in northwest Lake County. The Waukegan office was moved to its Gurnee Mill's location in 2000. The patient growth at the Michigan Avenue office required a move in 2003 to double its size at a new location near the corner of Wacker and North Michigan. In 2013 AccuVISION accuired Crystal Clear Eye Care Clinic in Schaumburg. The Schaumburg location made it possible for residents of further west towns to take advantage of our exceptional customer service and state of the art technology. Our newest location, Wauconda, opened in October of 2014. The Wauconda location now brings an extensive list of Vision Plans to an area that did not previously have. It was accepted to the Wauconda Chamber of Commerce with great enthusiasm and excitement. Recently, the American Vision Centers on Michigan Avenue and in Gurnee Mills were renamed to AccuVISION.
