Marina mismanagment

I am a lessee on Hometown America, Angola Beach and Estates since 2004 in good standing .

In 2006 I rented a boat slip for the first time on the Angola Beach Marina – Slip #12.

In 2009 I moved to Slip #62. Canceled checks payment on following dates: 03/07/2009, 03/06/2010, 03/21/2011, 03/10/2012, 03/14/2013, 02/27/2014 and 03/24/2015 available upon request.

Because some unexpected health condition, while in North Jersey I could not reply to your phone messages from 03/04 and 03/05 left on my phone answering system.

On 03/06/2016 was my discharge date from Rahway University Hospital, the hotel stay from 03/03/2016 to 03/06/3016 is also available.

This is to justify why I could not answer your messages… Angola Beach and Estates have my cell phone number but elected to call the landline house phone when nobody was there to answer it, strange! When back home in Philadelphia I called Angola Beach to answer messages and to make payment on slip#62 for the upcoming boating season.

That was on 03/10/2016 and was readily informed by Ms Dawn that I had lost the claim for the slip #62 and no reason given; I expressed my surprise and I was informed that on following Saturday I would receive a call if I still could claim the slip on my possession.

I didn’t have to wait until Saturday the 12th because the call from Ms Dawn came on Friday the 11th.

Then she offered me 2 different options of available slips at different locations. I refused to accept. I did not ask to exchange slip location, I was looking to recover the one I always had and was given away without my consent.

Why the options given to me by Ms Dawn were not offered to the person that would be the new tenant of the slip #62??? Any special personal or convenience/favor???

This extra zealous attitude (???) and maybe not demanded by management, destroyed the only summer pleasure of a septuagenarian retired couple.

This letter is simply to add my voice to the distaste and disappointment on the Hometown America, Angola Beach and Estates management for its apparent lack of awareness or perhaps, worse still, lack of integrity and or professional ethics.

Like every corporation, company or similar, when a situation like this happens, honest landlords managers, following professional ethics, before taking any terminal action, find out why absence of response was not made in time.

Not the case with Hometown America! Special interests involved are a concern.

Hometown America treats tenants/lessees as vulgar objects, therefore, you have no excuse, everyone of you who judges situations like this, the jugde eventually practices the very same thing. Deplorable. Nobody is as perfect as you assume you are. May be one day you feel the consequences of a very similar situation on you.

I will try to broadcast this message as much as I can for the community and locals to know what to expect from Hometown America, Angola Beach and Estates personnel and management.

Also I will be seeking legal advice.

Gilbert G.
