For more than 80 years Bert Matter Inc. has been delivering reliable service at competitive prices from our home in Northwest Washington.

tarted in 1927 with one man and a coal truck, Bert Matter himself delivered the coal that fueled industry and heated homes here in the Northwest. By mid-century coal was on its way out, oil was coming in and thus Bert Matter's coal box was replaced with an oil tank. When our customer needed us to haul construction materials, we bought flatbeds. When their jobs required us to go further, we obtained permits for interstate commerce and Western Canada. When they asked us to help them find partners for needs we couldn't meet, we started a brokerage. This is a pattern we keep coming back to...updating our equipment and services to meet the needs of our customers. We know that our good business is your good business.
