Piano tuning and repair
PIANO TUNING • $80Piano tuning is the process of adjusting the tension of the strings so they all vibrate in pleasing harmony with one another. This usually takes approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours to complete. To maintain proper pitch, the piano should generally be tuned every 6 months, but at least once per year, even if it is not frequently played. An inspection of the inside of the piano is included at no extra cost.PITCH RAISE • $150*The piano naturally goes flat, most commonly due to changes in temperature and humidity levels. When each of its approximately 220 strings need to be tightened considerably, the additional tension load affects previously tuned strings. Therefore, it is nearly impossible to make a significant change to the pitch and end up with a fine, accurate tuning in one step. First, the strings must be raised to the correct average tension levels, allowed to relax for two weeks, then the piano can be given a precise tuning. If your piano has not been tuned in over a year, you will likely need a pitch raise.*$80 due at the pitch raise, $70 at the fine tuning.REPAIRSIs anything wrong with your piano?
