Clark's Self Defense focuses on teaching practical self defense techniques to children and adults. We offer convenient group and private lessons.

Clark's Self Defense was founded and established by Derrick Clark in 1999. Derrick began Martial Arts training more than 25 years ago at the age of 8. At 12, he became one of the youngest black belt instructors in the Northeast. In 1994 Derrick created the S.A.F.A. (Stopping Attacks Safe and Effectively) program for children that was incorporated into the curriculum taut at our studios. Derrick is now a certified fifth degree black belt in Kempo Karate and a certified Pressure Points Instructor with supplemental training in Shotokan Karate, Okinawan and Wu Shu Weaponry, Jujitsu and Kung Fu. In addition to being a qualified instructor, Derrick ran a weekly television series demonstrating various self-defense techniques. He also directs many Karate tournaments and seminars throughout the year and gives lectures and demonstrations in colleges and universities. He is actively involved in Schools, Health Clubs, Youth Organizations, Recreation Departments and Police Departments.
