Benjamin Ben Ringel, the lead singer of a fairly popular music band. Ringel also plays the guitar and many other forms of guitars, when required.

Born on August 29, 1976, Benjamin Ringel is the son of the famous surfer Jeff Ringel, from San Diego, California. Ringel’s early musical influenceds included The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Neil Young, Sublime, Bob Dylan, Nick Drake and others. Ben learned to play the guitar at he age of 14, from his father best friend John Conwell, but didn’t devote serious time to his musical aspirations until he was in college. At 17, Benjamin Ringel who had been surfing since he was five years old lost his chance of becoming a pro surfer after he suffered a surfing accident. While recovering from the accident Ben Ringel spent a lot of time writing songs and playing guitar. After graduating from high school, Benjamin Ringel applied and was accepted to the University of California, Santa Barbara. While attending university he developed his passion for music and began playing rhythm guitar with his band “Minus Me”. Benjamin Ringel graduated from Santa Barbara University with a degree in music theory. Musically Ben Ringel’s big break came after he wrote and recorded his song “Faraway Sorrow” in 1999. After that he signed a contract for Mellow Records, and released his first track demo. Ben Ringel’s next big break came after a producer from Los Angeles heard his track demo and worked with Benjamin on the release of his debut album “ Fear Not” Ringel put together a band to record the album, and the album was released on early 2002, bringing huge success for Ben Ringel. He toured for almost two years before recording his second album. The album was released in 2004 and sold well for Ringel. His fourth album came out in 2008 and immediately went platinum. It also set a record at the time for weekly digital download sales. It remained at the number one position for almost three weeks.
