In 1985 Eric Denchfield started cleaning gutters alone after high school in Bethesda Maryland. Normally working over 100 hours per week, during a twenty five year period, he has gained the man hour equivalent of 5o years of rooftop experience. DHI grew to a peak of 132 employees, and has won numerous awards including First Place in Paul Reveres, best copper roof on the East coast, Runner up to the best metal roof in the Country, Washington Checkbook Magazine's award of Top Roofer in The Washington Metro Area, Angies List top 5% elite service contractor and numerous other awards. DHI is a certified installer of most major roofing manufacturers, and is authorized to install long term factory NDL warranty systems. After a poor economy and a slight skin cancer scare, Denchfield downsized and hibernated from 2008-2012, DHI now has less then 10 employees and is focusing on complicated and difficult projects.
