The Veranda is part of a block of historic buildings that form the heart of Thornton Park, one of Orlando's oldest and most historic neighborhoods. Located at the corner of Summerlin Avenue and Washington Street, the Veranda is just two blocks from Lake Eola and minutes from the central business district along Orange Avenue. The Veranda was purchased from its former owners - who operated it as a bed and breakfast and event venue - in 2012. A major renovation involving historic restoration experts along with technology consultants was undertaken immediately. In addition to adding high-bandwidth communications and restoring the buildings, the courtyard behind The Veranda was renovated with new stone pavers and the event stage used for presentations and wedding ceremonies was repaired.
