I encourage my clients to bring personal items or have portraits taken at their home to make the final product more meaningful and personal. I like children to bring their special items like blankets, dolls etc. An option for lifestyle portraits taken at your home is to allow the children to go about their day as if I wasn't even there. I then capture the children in their natural environment doing the things they love to do. This also allows children to feel more comfortable in front of the camera.
