Shepherdstown Public Library, located in the heart of the historic Shepherdstown district, serves residents of the greater Jefferson County community.
We are the oldest library in West Virginia to operate continuously in the same building, having been established in the Old Market House by the Shepherdstown Women's Club in 1921. We are small, but extremely robust. We are part of a larger consortium of 9 libraries with whom we share resources, and our interlibrary loan system extends throughout the entire state of West Virginia and beyond. Our primary mission is to be of service to the community. This means that the staff, volunteers, Board of Trustees, and the Friends of the Shepherdstown Library (FOSL) are working to help you!
