Vecinitos (Little Neighbors in Spanish) means understanding cultural differences and learning from others to live in harmony. Vecinitos is a Spanish immersion program for elementary school children. Our program embraces the richness of the many different Latin cultures living closely together in our city. With our program children and adults will go on a journey where they will learn fun facts about Latin America while learning useful Spanish. Vecinitos is a unique combination of music, storytelling, games and art aiming to bring our students together in a diverse community while learning Spanish. Being aware that children thrive in an environment of multisensory stimulation Vecinitos has developed a well-rounded curriculum that engages the five senses. Vecinitos was inspired by Andrea's 5 year-old son. He was born in Brooklyn to a Cuban father and Colombian mother.
