Tutor Me Bright tutors in areas of Math such as Elementary Math (K-6), Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2
I have always had a keen interest for Mathematics. When I was seven years old, I would frequently ask my mother to make Math questions for me so I could practice answering them (this was my hobby). I admired the sight of numbers! From that time, Math has been my favorite subject. I graduated from Montgomery College with my Associate's Degree in General Studies where I took a variety of Math courses, became certified in Early Childhood Education, and I am now pursuing my Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. For three years, I have privately tutored ages 6 through 14 year olds and tutored college-aged classmates, friends, and family in both a private and classroom-based setting in Math areas of Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2. I have helped my students understand the concepts of adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing figures (whole numbers, fractions, and decimals), graphing numbered pairs, finding the slope, and equation of those numbered pairs, finding the perimeter and area of shapes, factoring polynomials, and much more Mathematical functions. My favorite is seeing the difference I make from the beginning to the end in my students' Mathematical understanding. On the first tutoring session, I give a pre-test corresponding to the student's grade level or Math course to determine the student's Math comprehension. Based on the pre-test I know what areas I need to focus on with the student. I then provide worksheets that the student and I work on together during the sessions. When I believe the student has gained knowledge of the material, I give a post test. My overall goal and mission is to give students the knowledge that I obtain in various areas of Mathematics.
