Many disability advocacy groups advertising on TV and the Internet are not lawyers! If they use the word “advocate” to describe themselves they are not attorneys with degrees in law and are not licensed to practice law. Since 1989, she has been representing the disabled regarding Social Security, Short and Long-Term Disability Insurance and State and Federal Employee disability retirement. Melanie is also authorized to represent disabled veterans before The Veterans Administration.
