Skidmore Studio is a Detroit-based design studio that was established in 1959 as an automotive illustration studio. The studio, which was founded by Leo Skidmore, built a reputation in the 1950s and 60s for illustration work completed for the Big Three car companies. Over its 52 year history, Skidmore evolved its line of services to include branding, marketing strategy, graphic design, interactive design and CGI and motion graphics. Similarly, Skidmore diversified the studio's client base to include corporate clients in the Detroit area, including the Detroit Institute of Arts and Detroit Medical Center. In October 2011, Skidmore relocated its offices to the historic Madison Theatre Building, becoming the anchor tenant of the entrepreneurial hub for creative and tech companies.
