The company was officially launched in 2013, by Creative Director and Owner Chris Sato. Chris brings 10+ years of corporate video and creative filmmaking experience, along with his extensive resources of video professionals, including Yokai Director and Lead editor Mike Meyer. Yokai's growing list of clients include SMG Entertainment Management, Soldier Field, Make a Wish Foundation, Res Publica, Wirtz Beverage Group, Northshore Medical Group, Bosch Tools and Buzzfeed to name a few. Creatively, Yokai Films has also debuted an award-winning feature film, and produced and directed the BTS web series for Statesville Haunted Prison and The Fear at Navy Pier.
