Founded in 2010, owner Nick Morrow is a 16 year veteran of the Kansas City Fire Department. In December 2010, Kansas City's NBC Action News took some time to talk to KCMO firefighter Nick Morrow about his new pizza shop. Nick told reporter Chris Morrison that he loved the show "Emergency" as a child and dreamed of someday being a firefighter. He's been fulfilling his firefighting dream for more than 15 years now and was ready to pursue his second dream: opening a pizza shop similar to ones he enjoyed as a child with his family while growing up in rural Illinois. He brought that second dream to life when he unveiled Nick's Pizzeria and Ice Cream and joined the ranks of Overland Park's most savory dining options.
