When moving from jamming in the basement to rocking in the free world, aspiring musicians have the option of either paying through the nose to record with or rent from a third party or purchasing expensive equipment and struggling on their own. Sadly, the vast majority don't take either risk. Most of the music industry is focused on beginner or expert musicians, leaving those in the middle to feel things out for themselves. I'd like to see a future where the only risk or struggle that musicians face is that of their own ability and talent. I'd like to see a music industry where every artist who wants to try their hand has the option to do so.
