Why We Are Here!
Nearly one of every four children in Texas lives in poverty, according to the Texas Kids Count annual data book released by the Center for Public Policy Priorities. When individuals have meager incomes they lack choices, mobility, opportunities for improvement, and self-esteem. Poverty gives rise to frustration and hopelessness which is visible through destructive behaviors such as drug and alcohol abuse, gang involvement, depression, criminal activity, and even the loss of life. Poverty is teaching young Americans that they are not valued, that failure is to be expected, and that hope is futile. We ares here to steer the youth in the right direction by offering hope, and a safe nourishing environment that restores a child's spirit away from drugs and crime
