Originally founded in 1946 after Chester Jost returned from the Second World War, Jost Flooring Company began as a small business that specialized in sanding and refinishing hardwood floors to local homes and businesses in the Bakersfield area. In 1990, Chester 's sons Duane and Dave bought the company, and shortly thereafter joined the Carpet One network. Jost Carpet One quickly grew into one of the premier home-town full service flooring companies working with and installing carpet, hardwood, laminate and ceramic flooring while also offering other home decor materials for the discerning home owner. Holding true to Chester 's dream, Duane and Dave continue to serve Bakersfield and Kern County with the same personalized hometown service their father used to build the business.
