Air Safety Investigator, National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), for 25 years I was the Investigator-in-charge (IIC) for General Aviation and Transport Category Aircraft. As IIC, I investigated all phases of general aviation, air taxi and air carrier aircraft accidents. I completed factual and probable cause reports, which included the sequence of events, documenting evidence, interviewing witnesses, photographing the wreckage on site, reconstructing the accident, determining and monitoring requirements for special tests, evaluating the findings, preparing specialized analysis of failed components and/or accessories, developing conclusions, and writing accurate, technical and factual reports.
