Little Pots Art Studio is a home-based business in the city of San Diego, zip code 92123.This business is a dream come true for our family and we hope that our family art studio will become a place of enjoyment for yours.As a brand new business, we are humble and eager to serve our community but we’d like to think that this will always be our creed.At Little Pot’s Art Studio, we offer art classes for children ages 5 – 13, all materials and firings will be included in the price of tuition, which will be posted shortly. This does not mean that anyone outside this age bracket cannot participate. We are open to custom requests, birthday parties and special events. Also, you will see on display in our studio/classroom, premade pieces for your selection which you can purchase and glaze (apply decoration/color). The cost will cover all materials and the glaze firing.When you visit our studio, you will be greeted by qualified artists with a passion for what we do and a desire to teach.Art is a fundamental part of a child’s development, this is a fact. Children that participate in any form of art develop and displays a higher ability to problem solve. Even so, art programs are being cut from our schools. I know that this has to do with our budget but our children should not pay the price. According to The School Superintendents Association, (AASA) www.aasa.org :“The arts are not just expressive and affective, they are deeply cognitive. They develop essential thinking tools — pattern recognition and development; mental representations of what is observed or imagined; symbolic, allegorical and metaphorical representations; careful observation of the world; and abstraction from complexity.The arts also contribute to the education of young children by helping them realize the breadth of human experience, see the different ways humans express sentiments and convey meaning, and develop subtle and complex forms of thinking. Although the arts are often thought of as separate subjects, like chemistry or algebra, they really are a collection of skills and thought processes that transcend all areas of human engagement.”Although we provide an art experience that is intended to be a freedom of expression, we are not a pre-school or a daycare.
