DIPLOMATE OF THE AMERICAN BOARD OF ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGEONS, Dr. Rajagopal joined the Associates for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in July of 2000. Prior to joining the practice, he attended Utah State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in both Exercise Physiology and Community Health in 1991. He then attended Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU) School of Dentistry in Portland, Oregon where he received his Doctor of Medicine and Dentistry (DMD) degree. He completed his formal training at Kings County Hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center, in Brooklyn, New York. During residency he completed rotations in anesthesiology, internal medicine, intensive care unit, trauma surgery, general surgery, plastic surgery, emergency medicine, and otolaryngology (ENT).Dr. Rajagopal was awarded the Bernadette A. Scully Award and American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Award in 1995 for recognition of excellence in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Anesthesiology.Dr. Rajagopal currently practices in Medford, Grants Pass and Klamath Falls. He is on staff at Providence Medford Medical Center and the Surgery Center of Southern Oregon and is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support. His clinical interests include maxillofacial trauma, maxillofacial and dental implants, surgical pathology, orthognathic surgery, dentoalveolar surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery, and bone and soft tissue grafting procedures for maxillary and mandibular reconstruction.In addition to being a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Dr. Rajagopal is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, as well as a member of Healing the Children, Health Volunteers Oversees, Western Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, International Congress of Oral Implantology, Oregon Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Southern Oregon Dental Society, American Dental Association, and Academy of Osseointegration.Away from his profession, Dr. Rajagopal enjoys spending time with his wife, Sharon, and their three children fishing, golfing, skiing, and visiting friends.
