Essex Youth Theater is now in its 25th exciting year! Our unique program lets every child shine.OUR PROGRAMYou’ve seen acting programs that crowd a large group of kids on stage. Some children may get speaking roles, some may not. Some are featured, others are left in the background. Essex Youth Theater is different.EYT is a specialized program that uses custom-written scripts to guarantee equal roles for a specific number of students. Class size is kept small, with each child receiving lots of individual attention. And every semester culminates in a full-scale musical production.Ours is an atmosphere of fun learning, where self-esteem and self-confidence are our primary emphasis. We provide a nurturing, caring environment where every child blossoms. Each child is gently encouraged to explore their natural creativity while building theatrical skills. Finally, students experience the indescribable feeling of accomplishment through the joy of performing.OUR TEACHERSOur teachers are professional directors specially trained in children’s theater. Skilled artists, they bring many years of experience, as well as a love and understanding of young actors, to every class.OUR FACILITYWe are in residence at The Studio Playhouse, 14 Alvin Place in Montclair, (right by the A&P on Valley Road).
