Rocky Mountain Glaucoma Consultants is a new practice that specializes in the early diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and related conditions.

Rocky Mountain Glaucoma Consultants (RMGC) specializes in the early diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma which is a leading cause of blindness in this country. The practice was founded by Charles D McMahon MD who is fellowship trained in glaucoma who has been in private practice for over thirty years along the front range of Colorado.For thirty years, he has been on the volunteer staff in the department of ophthalmology at the University of Colorado Medical Center now called the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute where he remains as an Associate Clinical Professor Emeritus. he has participated in numerous clinical research projects to develop new medications and surgical procedures for the treatment of glaucoma. He moved from Colorado Springs area assumed a very large glaucoma practice on short notice in the Denver area and helped recruit a glaucoma specialists for practice. Dr McMahon is now forming this glaucoma consulting practice to assist other doctors in the diagnosis and management of complicated cases of glaucoma. He continues to perform modern glaucoma surgery (shunts & stents) including the very successful procedure called "canaloplasty". This is an exciting time for glaucoma specialists as the treatment has advanced rapidly in the past few years and there is hope for more success in treating this blinding condition in the future.He and his associates see consultations in well equipped offices in Denver, Aurora, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Canon City and Aspen/Basalt area on the western slope of the Rockies.
