Unlike wood or polyurethane foam vigas, FCV's are not affected by UV radiation, rain, snow or freezing temperatures. Polyurethane urethane foam vigas are not suitable for exterior applications and will deteriorate in sunlight. FCV's are made of a hi-impact fiber reinforced colored cement composite. FCV's outperform any known wood or synthetic viga. But equally or more important, FCV's look exactly like wood and are non-combustible. With Fiberspan Concrete Vigas subtle color variations, wood grain and hand peeled texture effectively and richly reproduced, even the most astute observer will believe its wood.
