Dave started out being very professional. He was quick to respond to my phone call, and quickly met with me to do an initial walk through of my store. I thought that it would be a great idea to get the expert involved before deciding what was best for my needs. Dave seemed excited and full of ideas. He recommended that we purchase a unit that would be made for indoors, but a refrigerator compressor that could be remoted outside. Dave was aware at this time that because of my proximity to the road, it would not be approved by the town to install at ground level. Much like every other retail shop or restaurant in my strip mall, I would need to put the equipment on the roof. It came time to order all of the equipment, and before purchasing I gave Dave all the information about the walk in and refrigerator. Once again, he seemed very excited to do the work. We made the order, and after spending over 10,000 on the recommended supplies, we waited for delivery. I remained in contact with Dave, and once the shipments arrived I made the call to him to get the process started. Without me even mentioning the equipment, Dave immediately said that he was not excited about having to put the unit on the roof. Can you believe it? This is the same Dave who was involved from the very beginning of the job, the same Dave who knew which unit we were buying, and the same Dave who knew the requirements of the job from the very beginning. At first I was not really sure how to respond. Dave began to argue for putting the outdoor equipment inside. I decided not to react, and allow Dave to come to the shop to look over things again. Of course, he showed up with an attitude that he was not willing to do the work that had discussed and agreed upon for over a month. He now seemed to be unhappy with all of the purchases made, even though he had been involved in ordering. Just like that, Dave decided that he was not willing to do the work involved to hook up the equipment. It became very clear that Dave was simply a big talker who had bitten off more than he could chew. I am now sitting here with all of the equipment he instructed me to buy, and nobody to install it. Dave did call me an hour after he walked out, trying to recommend someone else for the job because he "didn't want to leave me hanging". Ha! Like I would ever trust his word or recommendation. I will never use Frostbite again, even if it means having to close my shop for repairs. I would strongly recommend using a different company for any big jobs, regardless of what Dave claims he is capable of doing. As far as smaller jobs, be very cautious before spending any money, and keep in mind that his word is completely worthless.
