Green River Post At Green River Posts / Blue Grass Fence, we specialize in producing pressure treated yellow pine fence wood posts, and premium yellow pine Privacy Fence Boards. We also have Poplar and Oak boards for all your horse fencing needs. Our Posts After our raw material is brought to the lumber yard the logs are cut to the desired post length, run through the de-barker, and stacked in their proper size bundles. The post bundles are stacked into square stacks with stickers between each layer to provide equal drying for the inside posts. We have found the posts in round bundle have a lot higher moister in the inside posts and the treating process is not done evenly, or properly, but posts dried in square bundles, with stickers separating each layer are very evenly dried. The posts are then transported to the drying yard where they will then be delivered to the pressure treating plant. At the treating plant the wooden posts will be placed into a large cylinder and an extensive vacuum will be pulled on the posts to open the wood cells for the treatment to enter. The posts are then pressurized with C.C.A. to a retention rate of .40%, which is the industries standard. This gives the posts the ability to last for many, many years. Privacy Fence Boards Our larger logs are shipped to our Privacy Fence Board mill, and there they are run through our state of the art, four head B-800 brewco sawing unit, to deliver a prime number one grade, Privacy Fence Board.
