Though semi-retired I provide structural engineering design services for residential and small commercial buildings

Created in March, 2010 after retiring from and leaving Goldsmith, Prest & Ringwall, Groton Engineering is a one-man firm that specializes in structural engineering/design for small commercial buildings and residential structures. My office is now in my home. My main focus is on wood and timber structures though I also design with steel, aluminum and concrete as the need arises. I do work on new and existing structures. I have developed epoxy restoration methods for timber framing and have published articles about the procedures.
