H.F.A.I. began inviting families and groups out to experience the herd in their natural environment with no manipulation from outside sources. You will literally be one of the herd. The results were amazing. Kids who were fearful or unsure about animals quickly became enchanted and wanted to help while bonding with the animals and learning to communicate with them. Our ultimate long term vision is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for kids (particularly foster kids and kids at risk) to come and even live if the situation warrants that. While helping with the care of the animals. We offer them a safe and stable environment until they are old enough to be on their own or they are adopted into a perfect home. Once these kids reach the age of 18, they will make the decision to stay and give back by working in the center, helping other children and animals or they will move on to their chosen future endeavors.
