iSTAR is a grant funded program designed to train individuals for a career in Information Technology. Piloted by Northwest State Community College and partnered with WSOS Community Action and CIFT Innovation, iStar offers a career pathway for students in IT and offers a 90% completion and hire success rate. A solution for long-term unemployment in Northwest Ohio, iStarworkforce solution was funded by a grant awarded by U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration. iStar IT Specialists Certificate Program provides a 16-week accelerated program and coursework, where students are trained specifically for a career in IT.The program offers students the benefit of a specialized accelerated education, while employers receive up to 50% of 18 weeks of on-the-job-training costs
