JW Finley, Inc. of Toms River was started by Mr. Joseph W. Finley Sr. back in 1920 and continues in business today as a 3rd generation company after 90 years. Mr. Finley began as an electrician and later began to sell and service appliances. Along the way he added a propane business, which is still a vital part of the business today. He installed the first electric lights in many areas beginning in 1926. Finley's has many firsts to their credit such as the first appliance dealer, the first Air Conditioning dealer and the first to install sound equipment in the local theatre. Then in 1956, Finley began to deliver fuel oil and related petroleum products.
