Shelborne Development's mission is to resurrect blighted Detroit neighborhoods by providing quality affordable and market rate housing along with integrating commercial space into these communities. In many instances this involves more than one property in a neighborhood and often times, most of a city block.Many of our projects are developed with the intent of maintaining the historically significant exterior of the building while gut rehabilitating the interior with modern floor plans and amenities. We specialize in the development of urban housing with a concentration on historic rehabilitation and use an integrated approach to develop, construct and manage affordable and market rate housing, consisting of apartments and single family homes.Whether developing our own project or helping another developer see their project come to fruition, Shelborne employs it's extensive experience working with diverse funding mechanisms including, Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Federal and State Historic Credits, Brownfield Incentives, Neighborhood Stabilization, HOME and 1602 Funds.
