My dad was a loyal customer of Kerver Oil for 30 years. My dad now has advanced Parkinson disease and has a full time care giver living with him. Ed Kerver Sr. was called because the furnace would not start. I handle my dad's finances, and received a bill of $495.00 for installing a "new complete triple aquastat". The "new" aquastat had paint splatters on the cover, some oxidation, and significant dust inside. There were cobwebs on the back that could not have been there if the unit was changed. I called Honeywell with the numbers off the unit, and found out it was made in 1998, about the time the furnace was installed. There is no way he changed the aquastat! I am guessing he just hit the reset and that started the furnace. It takes a real scumbag to try to take advantage of a disabled 81 year old man... I offered $95 for the service call and he accepted..
