Having been a customer for some 17 years, I got my firs shut off notice. The bill was due on Sep 15, and admittedly was mailed on September 15th. It being late is not the issue. A shut off notice was received in the mail 8 calendar days later Sep 23rd, and I was given until September 25th ( 2 days from receipt) to pay the bill or the water would be shut off and the service return fee would be $75. I already had been hit with a late charge and so deserved it, but the point is, there needs to be a little more leeway for late payment , than threatening to shut off the water due to less than 10 days late. Even the gas and electric companies are not this bad, especially for a $29.80 bill. I called and the payment had been received on the 17th and processed. It's a shame that for people who do struggle to have to put up with such threat. Have some compassion, it's water for heavens sake.
