In "A Cultural History of the United States Through the Decades - The 1960s" by G.Holland, copyright 1999, there is a definite mistake on page 117. The date of the tragedy in which three astronauts were killed is given as 1/27/66, when in fact, it was 1/27/67. One may say it is a typographical error and blame it on the typist; however, truth be told, this book is still available in libraries, giving misinformation to the children reading about history. In the short chronology in the back of the book, the space disaster is listed under the correct year, but who reads that....the full story is on page 117 complete with a picture of the men who perished. Was this book ever republished with the correct date and, if so, why is this factually incorrect book still available in public libraries? Look forward to an explanation from you.
