instead of just saying "this company is horrible" I think I should list the reasons why. I'm a disabled single father of 2 disabled 8 yr twin boys, when i first moved into my apartment in crestview terrace in cottage grove, I was first told i had to sign all the papers on the 6th before i could see the place so i did, then we went right to the place to look at it, it was disgusting and kathren at the time did a walk through listing everything that was going to be fixed and replaced then gave me a copy of it when i picked up the keys on the 12th. when i walked into my place on the 12th, (keep in mind already payed the rent and deposit) nothing was done, and kathren came up with tons of excuses and told me it would be ready on the 16th for sure.
So 6 days and nothing done, from the 12th to the 16th i would come by to check progress and clean while 1 guy, just one was painting the walls. he didn't wash the walls just painted over several years of cigarette nicotine and gunk, it was even dripping down the walls, which i took pictures of him painting over, the overhead of the stove took me 3 hrs alone to clean. I was trying to be very understanding, and even wanted to help any way I could, while this guy did his work, there was supposed to be two but Kathrens son had better things to do. and Mike was at home chilling out from what he told the painter over the phone which i heard...lol
so i come with my u haul full of stuff on the 16th, and when i walked in the guy was still painting!!! i call kathren and she gave off a fake upset, so i moved in cuz i had no place to go, and the carpets where not even cleaned yet. So im now in the place, it reeks of smoke and crap, so i spend 30 hrs cleaning everything. 2 weeks later at 5pm, no call nothing the carpet guys are there to clean my carpets. i told them to come back in morning and i moved everything off carpets, they just wanted to clean around furniture. it took a month for them to put blinds in the place causing my sons to get heat rashes because the sheets i had didn't block the heat on the hottest month of the summer. and was finally put in when i went to the head property manager and demanded stuff get done and told her everything.
now its been 6 months, not 1 thing has been fixed, and now for the last 3 months they got a new manager tracy, i gave her a chance to make things right and all i got was BS excuses and her pawning responsibility off on kathren telling me she isn't kathren so she doesn't have to honor the agreement made. Funny thing is though i did not make an agreement with kathren, i made it with nugget and the head property manager has known of these issues since June, so they just don't care about tenants, or even owners, they basically tell you to pay them money and shut up. and I am not the only one who deals with this, everyone i have talked to owner and tenant are not happy with their service, now all the stuff i have on them i plan on taking legal action for discrimination and un ethical practices and violating tenant housing laws. I would encourage those who have been going through the same things to do so as well, this company is a slum company and being disabled i have to save money to move, they know this which is why they have no problems taking my money and not doing a single thing they are supposed too. and because i confronted them about these things, when trying to get them to keep to their end of the agreement i am possibly looking at an eviction notice, even though my neighbors enjoy having me here, no complaints and i pay my rent on time.
