Onslow County Animal Control

I called animal control to hopefully save the life of a starving young Great Dane that lives in a disgustingly overgrown back yard littered with garbage. Her body is so emaciated you can clearly see her spine, ribs and hip bones. The sweet pup is basically a walking skeleton. Her owner, Keelan Billinsgsly, is an ex marine known to leave her for days at a time with no access to water or food. She is in a very bad situation at 1531 Belgrade Swansboro Rd in Maysville NC, so I was sure the animal control officer would remove her as soon as he saw her and the horrific living conditions. I was wrong. While his response to my call was timely his actions were disconcerting. He spoke with the owner, looked at the dog and her outdoor living conditions and did nothing! The Great Dane was left to continue her life as is! I cannot begin to explain how extremely disappointed I am with this result. Both the ex marine and animal control officer have failed in their responsibility to uphold their oaths to protect and serve. I will continue to pursue rescue for this puppy, her name is NOVA, for as long as it takes to have her removed from her irresponsible owner. Nova cannot fight this fight so I will! “When good people stand by and do nothing, evil wins!!”
