Business description

Professional Karate Institute Mixed Martial Arts in the only studio in San Antonio teaching the Ju Ki Do system of Martial Arts.

JuKiDo literally translated means “the Gentle Powerful Way.” The system is a blend of soft and hard styles of martial arts with an ultimate goal of learning to disable a man from doing wrong and enable him to do right. JuKiDo is fundamentally more than just a martial arts system, but as with traditional martial arts, it is a way of life.JuKiDo students are trained in three specific areas: Self Defense, Physical Fitness and Character Development. JuKiDo training has numerous benefits, and has shown its ability to relieve individuals from prescription medications, deliver youth from social disorders, increase physical capabilities, boost personal confidence, and balance lifestyles through practiced discipline. The three areas of training fit together as one and are applicable to all walks of life. Through the development of physical fitness, students increase in physical ability. This increase results in boost of self- confidence. Confidence empowers a person to stand for what they know to be right and therefore establishes a character with a will to defend against wrong.JuKiDo is a system that comprehensively addresses both the sport aspect and the practical aspect of martial arts. Teens and adults that enter the program benefit from the full range of training and ability to focus on developing their individual interest in the martial arts. The ranking system in JuKiDo is a colored belt system, where each color specifically defines the level of training that each student is held accountable for. Young children training in the system, learn principles of authority and responsibility through respecting the color of the belt of their instructors and fellow classmates. The nature of being a true mixed martial arts system brings a mixture of cultures which also makes JuKiDo a multicultural martial arts system. The various styles of weapons that constitute JuKiDo weapon training significantly expose the influence of the cultures incorporated in the style. The weapon selection covers Japanese, Chinese, Okinawan, Brazilian, and European weaponry. Students that have earned their green belt ranking are eligible and encouraged to begin weapon training. The black belt ranking requires demonstration of comprehension of at least one weapon.
