Founded in 2002 by a retired helicopter pilot with many years of experience "flying fire", the business was sold in 2008 to employee Eric Metzger and his father, who retired in 2007 from the US Forest Service after a 34 year career in forestry and fire management. Eric kept on with the residential defensible space focus of Runng Tree, and expanded the services offered to include tree climbing and more hazardous removals, as well as some larger-scale forestry and fire management projects. We have worked on fire hazard reduction projects in the wildland-urban interface throughout Central Oregon, both privately and under government contract, and for the Homeowner's Associations throughout Central Oregon.
