Ace Hardware began as a small chain of stores in 1924 and has grown to include more than 4,600 stores in 50 states and more than 70 countries. Ruppert's Ace Hardware began in 1988 in a 3000 Sq Ft location on North Elm Street, and has now grown to the present 11,000 Sq Ft location at 120 2nd Ave SE. As part of the largest retailer-owned hardware cooperative in the industry, Ruppert Ace Hardware and Rental is independently owned.
