Business description

Would you like to honor and serve America? Do you want to prepare for your future while making new friends? Then rise to the challenge of cadet membership in the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary.

Meetings are every Thursday from 6:30 - 9:00 pm except holidays, during the State Fair, or when the Sedalia School District closes during inclement weather. The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) conducts three primary programs: Emergency Services and Civil Support, Aerospace Education, and Cadet Programs. Sedalia supports all three programs but with emphasis on the Cadet Program to transform local youth into dynamic Americans and aerospace leaders. CAP accomplishes its Congressionally-mandated Cadet Program (Title 36, U.S.C. § 40302) through a curriculum of leadership, aerospace, fitness, and character. The program follows a military model and emphasizes Air Force traditions and values. Today’s cadets are tomorrow’s aerospace leaders. Five key traits of cadet life inform commanders on the desired look and feel of cadet activities and how they should conduct the Cadet Program: The uniform, aerospace theme, opportunity to lead, challenge, and fun. For more information visit: gocivilairpatrol.com.

Cadets fly, learn to lead, hike, camp, get in shape, and push themselves to new limits. If you’re dreaming about a career in aviation, space, or the military, CAP’s Cadet Program is for you.

To become a cadet, you must be be at least 12 years old and not yet 19 years old. Cadets meet 2 hours per week and one Saturday per month, on average, and also have opportunities to attend leadership encampments, career academies, and other activities during the summer.
