While we do use Digital Gear at Smiley Face Records, we strive to capture a performance, not manufacture one. We will not trigger drums or auto tune vocals. Our recording methods are more organic. It is the human character and sonic imperfections that create musical style. Style is what sets different musicians and bands apart from one another. When music is dynamically flat your brain tunes it out, the same applies to the drums and rhythm that are sampled for consistency. It all becomes a dull hum in the background to your mind.
