For over 60 years, Staker Parson Companies has worked to be The Preferred Source of quality sand, rock & landscape products, ready-mixed concrete, asphalt, paving, and construction serving a wide variety of contractors, businesses, government agencies, municipalities, and homeowners.Staker Parson Companies was formed in 2001 when Staker Paving and Construction Company and Jack B. Parson Companies became partners. Staker Parson Companies rich history began over 60 years ago. In 1927, a fifteen-year-old boy boarded a train and headed off to help his father build roads. That summer s experience developed into a lifelong passion for Jack B. Parson. After learning to operate every piece of equipment in the fleet, he was promoted to foreman, and gained a wealth of experience in the construction business. In 1952, Jack founded Jack B. Parson Companies in Smithfield, Utah, and the company grew to become one of the largest rock product producers and contractors in the region.In 1969, Stuart, Val, and Gordon Staker founded Staker Paving and Construction Co. Inc. in Salt Lake City, Utah. From its humble beginning, Staker Paving & Construction grew to become Utah s largest asphalt producer and placer. Staker s Beck Street asphalt plant in Salt Lake City is one of the nation s top-producing asphalt plants.Now we are the Intermountain Region s leading construction materials and services provider employing 2,000 people at more than fifty locations in Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, New Mexico, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, and Arizona. We have regularly been named one of Utah s fastest growing companies.We are a nine-time recipient of Utah s Best of State medal and have received numerous awards for our commitment to quality, service, and innovation for projects including the UDOT I-15 Lane Gain Project in Davis County, UDOT SR-30 Project in Northern Utah, the Utah State Capital Seismic Renovation, Highway 89 Cornia Drive Interchange in South Weber, I-84 Black Canyon Project near Boise, I-70 reconstruction near Green River, the Bear Lake Marina, and the George S.
