Stone Pillar Vineyard & Winery located in the heart of Johnson County is family owned and operated by Kansas' oldest farm family.
In 2004 on vacation George Hoff toured a wine trail that his fiancee Brandi arranged at Niagara on the Lake. Among the luscious grain fields they were used to seeing in Kansas were beautiful family operated vineyards and wineries. The experience was an inspiration to begin a winery in Kansas where the Hoff family is deeply rooted on their historic farm. George along with brother Frank, and cousin Thomas Jr. the fifth generation of Hoff men convinced Tom Sr. and wife Marcy that a winery would be a great way to keep the small acreage farm productive as the city swallowed up pastures and fields. George gained encouragement and experience with help from Holy-Field Winery and good friend Bill Frasier, and soon began making award winning wines.
