Business description
This is a website for sharing and preserving one's stories and memoirs. It is free, easy, and fun. It is catalogued by topic, where, and when.
Too many wonderful stories and memoirs and fascinating pieces of history are being lost forever as generations pass and their stories and memoirs can no longer be heard. Millions of human interest stories, bits of wisdom, family history, humorous happenings, and so forth have never been written down and catalogued for future generations to enjoy. My Dad was born in 1899 and almost achieved his goal of living in three centuries. He told stories of his childhood in South Louisiana when he would swim out into the bayou to retrieve a stalk of sugarcane from a barge on its way to Steen's Syrup Mill.He told of how during the Spindletop Oil Boom, following the Lucas Gusher, the mules had to be replaced with oxen because the mules could not pull their suction cup hooves out of the gumbo mud.
