We were billed in full for materials, some of which were then purchased by the contractor (but never delivered). The contractors are Rod Robertson and Patty Robertson, dba Summit Design and Renovation. Most of the materials were either partially paid for (i.e., deposits were made), or not paid for whatsoever. We paid the contractor over $16,000 for special order tile which he eventually purchased with our money. This tile sat for over TWO years in the warehouse of the store where it was purchased. When the contractor finally decided to pick up the tile, instead of bringing it to the job site, he took it home. We have paid receipts showing that we paid Rod for the special order tile and copies of the receipts from Tiles of Distinction showing that Rod Robertson picked up the tile. He claimed that he did not want to deliver the tile to the job site because he would waste time and effort putting it in our basement even though we was told that he could simply place the tile in our hallway less than 30 feet from where he parks his truck. He subsequently broke his contract with us to work on another job; he was paid in advance for at least another $140,000 worth of labor and materials which we have never seen. We are left with 2 unfinished bathrooms, over 40 windows that were never installed, kitchen cabinets with no doors, drawer fronts or hardware, doors without handles, rooms that are framed but without drywall ceilings or walls, a screened porch that was never started, a temporary front door, an exterior that was never sided with stone for which we paid out a deposit of $5000, AND THE LIST GOES ON MUCH LONGER. Although there are many build quality issues, we simply want the materials back that we paid for in full to Rod Robertson and Patty Robertson, dba SUMMIT DESIGN AND RENOVATION. We sent countless emails (all unanswered) and made endless calls (also unanswered). As a result of doing business with Summit Design, we are stuck with a very unfinished house that was started FEBRUARY 2013.
